UNM BMS Alumni Testimonial: Tye Kean Hong (2019)
Back in last October, I came across a job posting on LinkedIn by Medtronic and applied for it. It was a 6-month sales management trainee programme. Luck was on my side as I successfully secured the position in the programme which was conducted in Singapore, along with other trainees from Vietnam and Indonesia. During this 6-month programme, we had several field work rotations, classroom trainings and online training modules on human anatomy, physiology and medical equipment knowledge across the 3 business units in the company (i.e. Cardiovascular, Minimally Invasive Therapies and Restorative Therapies). On top of that, we were given consultative selling workshop to further enhance our selling techniques to the customers.
Fast forward to today, I am currently in charge of the ventilator portfolio as a product specialist under Respiratory & Monitoring Solutions. I am glad that I can apply the theories and skill sets as a Biomedical Sciences graduate in my career and contribute to our healthcare heroes fighting on the field with life-saving information.
