Alumni Testimonial: Aeson Chang (2014)

My PhD project is about improving the current standards of care in the treatment of breast cancer using clinically available drugs. I am sure my PhD enrolment into MIPS was highly relevant to the fact that I am a UNMC graduate, which is something I deeply appreciated. Studying in UNMC has offered me the opportunity to deepen my understanding in the biology of life. I got to learn why I am alive and breathing (cardiovascular and respiratory system), how the delicious Ban Mee in Broga fuels my body with energy (digestive system), why I enjoy the hike to Broga Hill (skeletal and muscular system), and more importantly, why I could enjoy the beautiful sunrise and interaction with my friends (nervous system). Not just that! I get to know other aspect of life, but also the chemistry that governs all these processes involved in those activities.

So, is UNMC the right place to study a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pharmacy? Sure is! And your presence in the campus, as well as the friendships you gain will definitely enliven the campus!

Aeson is doing PhD at Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) in Melbourne, Australia.
