Alumni Testimonial: Asyraf Samsudin (2018)
I graduated with a First Class BSc. (Hons.) in Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences from University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM). The three-year program has equipped me with a lot of necessary erudition to survive in a post-undergraduate world. I have developed multiple soft skills, including critical thinking, problem solving and effective communications which helped build my self-confidence.
After graduation, I am currently employed by one of the world’s most innovative, best performing and trusted healthcare companies – GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). I work in communications for the Business Service Centre. It is not a scientific line of work but a fully corporate one. Armored with the skills I garnered from the course, I managed to perform my duties efficiently. The School of Pharmacy has not only provided scientific knowledge to their students, but also other required essentials which will definitely help you even if you choose a slightly different path to start your career. They make sure that everything we learn is relevant and interdisciplinary.
In terms of future plans, I’m keeping my options open to do my Master’s in Public Health overseas. But for now, I am happy with where I am and I am appreciative of what the School and lecturers have taught me. Without the support and learning gained in UNM, I would not be where I am now.
