Coffee & Cake Session 1/2018 & First Catch-up Meeting with PG Reps
The first Coffee and Cake session this year was held on 26 January 2018. We are pleased to see a great turnout! This social gathering session was indeed a good platform for postgraduate students to temporarily get way from their work and catch-up with fellow postgraduate students whilst enjoying coffee and cakes.
The session started off with a welcome address by Ms Deepa Kumari Veerasingam, Head of Graduate School. She briefly explained the aim and purpose of the session and sincerely appreciated the attendance of postgraduate students at the Graduate School’s events and activities. She also introduced the new SA Postgraduate Officer, Olaoluwa Duro-Bello, fondly known as Ola. She further encouraged all postgraduate students on campus to approach Postgraduate Student Network (PGSN), a representative body of postgraduate students at UNMC, should there be any constructive criticisms and suggestions for improvement in postgraduate students related matters. If you would like to find out more about PGSN and their support to postgraduate students, please get in touch via email to email@example.com. You can also follow their Facebook page.
Prior to the Coffee and Cake session, a meeting was held between Postgraduate Taught (PGT) and Research (PGR) Student Representatives and members of the Graduate School. This was the first catch-up meeting and a major part of this meeting was for the reps to provide feedback that they had collated from fellow postgraduate students about their postgraduate experience on campus. This included any positive comments, constructive criticisms and suggestions for improvement. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ola, for his efforts in gathering the reps for this meeting, and also to all the reps present in this meeting, for their time and commendable voluntary efforts.
