2nd Call: 3 Minute Thesis Competition

This post is for PhD students who have passed their first year confirmation review and it is posted on behalf of Dr Jiin Woei Lee and Dr Tissa Chandesa, Research Training Development Managers.


Can you condense your research into a brief, engaging presentation and present it using a single static presentation slide to a non-specialist audience in no more than 3 minutes? Come and challenge yourselves to develop your academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) will hold its Three Minute Thesis 2019 competition (3MT®) on Wednesday 26 June 2019 at the Great Hall. For those who have registered at the Graduate School Moodle page, we say thank you. For those who have not and are interested – as long as you have successfully passed your first year confirmation review milestone (including thesis under submission), you are welcome to register at the Graduate School Moodle page:

To confirm your participation for the event, you MUST attend the compulsory briefing on Monday 13 May 2019 at 2-4pm in H1B13. More information on the briefing, key events, dates and times for the competition will be released in due course.

We are pleased to announce that we have increased the Runner Up prize. All winners will be awarded plaques and cash prizes to attend a conference of their choosing:
