COVID-19: Graduate School updates (27 October 2020)

In light of the newly announced extension of conditional movement control order (CMCO) till 9 November 2020, we are providing this update to reassure our postgraduate community of our commitment in maintaining and continuing our offering of training and development provision.

Preparing for Your Annual Review

  • Monday 2 November 2020, 10am – 12nn

  • This course will discuss the elements of the annual review process and consider the possible structures of an annual review report.

Editing Academic Writing 

  • Thursday 5 November 2020, 2pm – 4pm

  • This course will explore the different components and types of editing academic writing as well as some of the challenges commonly faced.

  • This course will study the importance of research ethics and integrity, and further outline the ethics procedures in UNM.

  • This course will consider ways of drafting and structuring a thesis.

  • This course will identify the features of good academic writing, discuss effective writing plan, and consider techniques for starting and finishing a thesis chapter.

Careers Advisory Service (CAS) recently launched a new Moodle page, PhD Careers Support. This initiative aims to provide useful careers information and opportunities as well as access to resources that are particularly relevant to PhD students at UNM.
