MAD Fun Project 2019: The True Spirit of Christmas (ACEMAS 2019)

‘Acemas 2019: The True Spirit of Christmas’ was held on 3 December 2019. This annual event organized by ACE Society provided an opportunity for the student population and staff from the University of Nottingham Malaysia to be directly involved in a charitable cause. Sixty-seven underprivileged children from Desa Amal Jireh, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai (YM) Selangor, and Kaizen Children’s home were invited to the campus where food, performances, and games were planned. This was followed by gifts presentations to the children for an early Christmas celebration.

The event was held from 6 to 10 pm in the UG room. The objective of the event was to promote the spirit of giving among the students and staff of the university. During the promotional period of the event, students and staff of the school were invited to donate presents for the invited children. The event was a huge success as students contributed all the gifts for the children within a week. We were also able to acquire the targeted number of gifts and the children were elated with their presents. The MAD Money Fund contributed to subsidizing our transportation and catering costs. The initiative of helping the minorities will be continued by the next few generations, which in a way, encourages more students to be aware of the plight of the less fortunate.
