Is LaMDA Alive?
Dr. Chen ZhiYuan, the Head of School of Computer Science in the University of Nottingham Malaysia, was recently involved in a podcast interview by the Business Station on Artificial Intelligence.
The interview discussed the topic “Is LaMDA Alive?” and what it means for AI’s to gain sentience. LaMDA is an AI System created by Google that seemed to be showing signs of consciousness, leading to the suspension of one of its engineers.
