Postgraduate Prize and Teaching Awards 2020
Announcement
The University of Nottingham Postgraduate Prize Awards recognise accomplishments in research, publications, conferences and contribution to the postgraduate community. Postgraduate research students were nominated by their Schools/Departments for excellence across a number of areas.

The Postgraduate Teaching Award recognise and celebrate examples of innovative teaching and support of learning. It is given to applicant who shows innovative and reflective practice by improving effectiveness in teaching and support of learning, making appropriate changes in learning activities or techniques as well as evaluating and reflecting on the impact of their intervention and possibilities for further development. Postgraduate students were asked to self-nominate themselves with teaching evidences and supporting documents for judging at the UK campus.

L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowships 2020 Climate Edition
Applications are still being welcomed
This fellowship is open to Malaysian women who are PhD holders or candidates pursuing research studies in advancing the science and tackling issues of climate change.
The recipient will be granted a fellowship worth RM30,000.

Getting published
In this blog post, we write about the focused group session with senior research academics and PhD students to discuss and share best practices in scholarly writing and publishing, with particular emphasis on publishing during PhD journey. This session, held on Thursday 30 April 2020, featured a lineup of guest presenters from the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering, namely: Ir Ts Dr Show Pau-Loke, Associate Professor and Director of Research; Apurav Krishna Koyande, 2nd year PhD student; and Angela Paul Peter, 1st year MPhil student.

As Nuzul Al-Quran (public holiday) falls on Sunday 10 May 2020, we have a replacement holiday on Monday 11 May 2020. Nuzul Al-Quran is a Muslim holiday during the month of Ramadan, on which is celebrated at the beginning of the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad.
