Recent trends in nanomaterials and technological applications

Workshop invitation

The Nanotechnology Research Group is pleased to invite staff and postgraduate research students (PGRs) whose research interests span nanotechnology to a series of workshops on recent trends in nanomaterials and technological applications. Whether it is fundamental technical development or downstream applications, the workshops are open to participants from both Faculty of Science & Engineering (FOSE) and Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS).

Workshop

Date

Aims

1

Monday 14 September 2020

  • Create a community of individuals with shared interests in nanotechnology.

  • Identify and prioritise research questions that have the potential to draw on our strengths at UNM through multi-disciplinary collaboration and fit with Malaysia’s research priority areas defined by MoHE and MOSTI.

2

December 2020 (TBC)

  • Brainstorm on stakeholder mapping.

  • Identify short- & long-term grant applications and writing competitive proposals.

  • Think ahead on pre-commercialisation.

3

Early 2021 (TBC)

  • Extend our collaborative networks to specific targeted IPTAs.

  • Identify those priority research questions from workshops 1 & 2 which would be most suitable for competitive local funding and build up proposals for pump-priming through a UNM MyCollaboration award.

Workshop 1
Monday 14 September 2020, 10am – 2.30pm
*This workshop will either be held physically or virtually, depending on the feasibility and number of participants.
