Recipients announced for our inaugural UNM PhD Scholarship

At the Graduate School, we are committed to empowering your postgraduate journey and research ambition. Our scholarship enables us to contribute towards a broad and diverse research environment that fosters both mature and emergent disciplinary and inter-disciplinary research.

Announcing the scholarship recipients

We are pleased to announce that our UNM PhD Scholarship has been awarded to the following well-deserving students. The inaugural scholarship offers full tuition fee waiver for the three years of our PhD programme.

    • Lee Yee Thung, School of Psychology

    • Wong Xiu Wei, School of English

    • Chung Jia Yiing, Division of Organisational & Applied Psychology

    • Jiang Qian, School of Education

    • Wong King Fei, Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering

    • Anussya S Jayasimhan, School of Education

“We received competitive responses to the scholarship call. The applications gave us an exciting glimpse of the promising research topics and areas, that are both innovative and transformative. Therefore, we are especially delighted that this scholarship enables us to nurture and support the research ambitions of young minds, with hopes of world-leading achievements and knowledge discoveries. Congratulations again to the scholarship recipients and we wish you the best in unlocking your potentials and realising your goals with us,” said Dr Maniam Kaliannan, Associate Dean of Graduate School.

The applications went through a rigorous review and assessment process by our Research Scholarship Management Panel, together with a designated multi-disciplinary panel consisted of academics from engineering, science and social sciences. “On behalf of the panel, congratulations to all the recipients! After rounds of careful consideration and extensive deliberation, you were selected among high calibre applicants and stood out as leaders who exemplify academic standards and wisdom. We wish you all the best for your future,” said Professor Asgar Ali, Chair of the Research Scholarship Management Panel.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the panels for their dedicated efforts in selecting the deserving recipients from a pool of high-achieving applicants with promising potentials. And once again, many congratulations to all the recipients!
