Overview

MyMentor is a project initiated by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. It will be delivered collaboratively by three leading international universities based in Malaysia [University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, Monash University Malaysia & the University of Southampton Malaysia Campus]. The proposed mentoring programme for postdoctoral researchers would pair a Mentor with a Mentee for a period of twenty-four months. Itaims to develop research by both theMentor and Mentee, with the objective of producing high quality research outputs that are sustainable in the future. It is also to aid the Mentee’s career development.

The objectives of MyMentor are outlined below:

  • Support early career researchers, who have completed their PhD less than two years ago, by fostering the initiation of an independent research career through a globally-competitive research program. This foundation forms a required pillar in their academic life.
  • Motivate and support experienced scientists, who are not active researchers, to enable them to publish high quality papers in the leading international journals.
  • Help early career researchers to develop international networks and collaborations via structured support and participation in key international conferences
  • Help each mentor/mentee, to publish at least one, high quality, academic paper.
