Embark Your Career: Hi Tea Series with Dell
“Your Tea, Your Time, Your Career”
On the 24th of February 2016, Careers Advisory Service (CAS) of University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) organised a High Tea Series with Dell which took place at HB05. Approximately around 45 students participated in this event which was strongly supported by Nottingham University Business School Malaysia Campus (NUBS).
The event started with career talk by Dell representatives where everyone in the room showed their interest of wanting to know about the reputable company and the great opportunities offered such as internship, Accounting Development Program and Finance Development Program.
From Director of APJ Services Accounting, Mr. Khor Jeen Eu; Senior Manager of Dell Software Group, Ms. Khim; Senior Manager of Global Operations Accounting, Ms. Eileen; Accounting Senior Analyst, Ms. Hui Teng to UNMC alumnus who currently works for Dell, Ms. Yung Sheen, the students had the chance to mingle, network and learn more about the company itself and job opportunities during the high tea session.
Ms. Khim mentioned that, “This high tea concept is unique which allows us to mingle and share our experience with the students who are eager to ask more and get inspired.”
The event continued with the interview session where 11 UNMC students were shortlisted. They were looking professional to be interviewed by the Dell representatives. The session went well and the candidates felt honoured to have gone through this priceless experience.
Yulita, the second year student of Finance, Accounting and Management expressed her gratitude to CAS for organising this event which opened door for her to prepare herself before entering the real working world.
“Dell was the first company who interviewed me for my internship application. I was very nervous at first, but it turned out to be a great experience in my learning curve. The networking session was nice. I was able to learn a little bit more about the company and its culture through the conversation with the employers which I found very beneficial to me.” Yulita said.
Careers Advisory Service would like to thank everyone who involved in the execution of the event.
