KPMG Malaysia Signs MoU with UNM for Professional Development of Young Talents
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) and the KPMG Malaysia was held on July 13, 2022 that took place at the KPMG Tower located in Petaling Jaya.
The MoU document between UNM and KPMG was signed by Professor Sarah Metcalfe, the CEO and Provost of UNM and Adrian Lee, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of KPMG Malaysia in which Adrian Lee will be the Strategic Partner of KPMG for the UNM. Among the attendees from UNM were the Registrar, Patrick Joseph and the Head of Careers Advisory Service, Alicia Ch’ng.
The unitedly agreed efforts are spearheaded towards accomplishing ambitious and mutually beneficial envisioned achievements of both renowned organisations. Thus, the MoU signed between both organisations is set to propel a new and more substantial engagement initiatives to nurture the young talents to be career-ready professionals in the near future.
Through this MoU, KPMG Malaysia and UNM Careers Advisory Service (CAS) will further explore on collaborative activities such as organising both technical as well as non-technical engagement programmes including but not limited to career bootcamp, networking events, guest lectures, and other activities such as workshops, talk, forum, and dialogue sessions for students’ academic advancements, professional development and employability enhancement purposes.
Previously, CAS has been collaborated with KPMG Malaysia in numerous career-related events and activities such as KPMG Data Analytics workshop, Careers Fair, Pre-Careers Fair Series, Get Ready Get Hired, Discovering Careers, Work Readiness workshop, and more. Other than that, KPMG has been involving to be one of the reputable companies offering virtual work experience modules for our initiative, UNM Careers x Forage Virtual Work Experience Programmes. Additionally, CAS has been working with KPMG Ambassadors in UNM to enhance their potential through their KPMG Ambassadorship Programme.
The Head of UNM Careers Advisory Service, Alicia Ch’ng shared, “We are honoured to be part of the MoU with KPMG Malaysia in nurturing young talents with necessary knowledge and skillset. CAS has been working closely with KPMG for years and we look forward to joining hands in more strategic initiatives supporting the professional development of our talents for the future world of work.”
There were the other 13 universities that joining hands for the collaboration with KPMG such as Universiti Malaya, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Universiti Tun Abdul Razak, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, International Islamic University of Malaysia, Sunway University, Taylor’s University, INTEC Education College, Multimedia University and Tunku Abdul Rahman University College.
