Alumni Testimonial: Tan Ching Xiong (2019)

It is an honor to be a graduate of the Pharmaceutical and Health Science at University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), Class of 2019. I am eternally grateful for all my knowledgeable and passionate lecturers who guided me during my years at UNM, and helped to shape me into the person I am today. Moreover, with the advice from my lecturers, I managed to secure a job before my final year result was released.

I am currently working as Quality Assurance (QA) Chemist at Top Glove. Top Glove is the world’s largest glove manufacturer, a Malaysia-based company that not only produces gloves, but also medical products such as medical face masks and Covid-19 test kits.

Working as a QA Chemist at Top Glove, I am in charge of the quality assurance department at Covid-19 Test Kit manufacturing plant. My main responsibility is to carry out research and development to ensure our products meet the desired level of quality. With the knowledge and skills that I have acquired at UNM, I manage to perform my work at Top Glove effectively and professionally.

Furthermore, enriched by placement experience that I gained at UMN, my laboratory and research skill have improved tremendously. With that, I am able to plan and execute my experiments effectively. UNM offers various opportunities to students to work as a research assistant under the guidance of professional lecturers by using state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.

If you are graduate of UNM, the possibilities are limitless, you will find your own path to success.
