The Intervarsity Biochemistry Seminar (IBS) is a scientific event organized by local and private universities alternatively and annually in collaboration with the Malaysian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (MSBMB). The event aims to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) to nurture young potential scientists of Malaysia. IBS also provides a platform for undergraduates to showcase and present their final year research projects as well as to exchange ideas, findings and experiences with other like-minded people in the field.

This year, the 30th IBS was proud to be hosted in University of Nottingham Malaysia by the Division of Biomedical Sciences and School of Biosciences. The event was organized on 4th May with a theme of ‘Breaking the Barriers of Science’. A total of 14 universities participated in the event, namely IIUM, IMU, Monash, MSU, NUMed, Taylors, UCSI, UiTM, UKM, UM, UPM, UTAR, UTHM and of course Nottingham.
