Academic Writing and Getting Published Workshop

Last Wednesday, October 23th, 2013, research students and I attended the Academic Writing and Getting Published course, conducted by a very special guest, UNMC Vice-Provost of Knowledge Transfer, Professor Graham Kendall.

Unlike in previous courses, Professor Kendall conducted this course as a workshop which got all research students involved in multiple small tasks during the 2 hour plus workshop. I personally felt that the entire workshop was very educational as important factors/issues that we, as authors need to consider when choosing which publication to publish in were discussed and highlighted. The type of remarks as well as how to respond to such remarks by reviewers was also touched in detail.

On behalf of RTAD, I would like to thank Professor Kendall for agreeing to conduct such workshop. I strongly believe that all who attended, benefited from the knowledge learnt on that day.
