  • This course will consider and discuss the skills of preparing an effective presentation. It is a prerequisite to the practical sessions.

  • These practical sessions will provide a friendly platform to practise and improve the skills of delivering an effective presentation. Please make sure you have met the prerequisite before attending the session. You can choose one of the four available practical sessions.

Applying for industrial job

In collaboration with Career Advisory Service, we are partnering with Dyson for a webinar on Applying for Industrial Job. The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday 16 June 2021, 2pm – 4pm.

Research integrity week

The University of Nottingham Research Integrity and Research Ethics Committee, with the Head of Research Integrity and the help of Researcher Academy, is organising a Research Integrity Week.

A number of webinars are scheduled which highlight a range of topics including digital research, research culture and the ethics of using Big Data.

Research ethics and integrity in everyday research: Opportunities, challenges, tools and networks

  • This session will explore approaches to embedding ethics in research projects and mobilising research integrity principles in research planning.

  • This session will look at the challenges involved in ensuring high quality research and high ethical standards, discuss the pressures faced by researchers and explore what researchers and organisations can do to safeguard and enhance good research practice.

Research ethics and integrity issues encountered in Modern Day Slavery Research by the Rights-Lab

  • Wednesday 23 June 2021, 8pm – 9.30pm (local time)

  • This session will introduce some of the work undertaken by the Rights Lab researchers and some of the ethical dilemmas they have encountered and how they addressed them.

  • This session will discuss questions such as: What type of research is rewarded in academic hiring and promotions? Do we value research that is very rigorous? How can we shape our rewards system to improve the quality of our research?

Digital research supporting research integrity

  • This session will explore how you can request access to digital services, find guidance and tips for getting the most from digital technology, and contact for specialist expertise and support.
