UNM Signs MoU With MCPG To Champion Vaccination Training Programme
The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with national Community Pharmacy organisation, Malaysian Community Pharmacy Guild (MCPG) also known as Persatuan Farmasi Komuniti Malaysia, in anticipation of the “COVID-19 Vaccination Training Programme” organised by MCPG.

Signed by Professor Andy Chan, Vice Provost of Research and Knowledge Exchange, on behalf of UNM, and Lovy Beh, President, on behalf of MCPG, this three-year collaboration will be dedicated to developing research for the programme and providing students with the opportunity to be trained by MCPG and its experts.
This signing was conducted in the presence of Professor Ting Kang Nee, UNM Head of School of Pharmacy; Ong Li Hoon, MCPG Executive Secretary; and Ministry of Health Deputy Director General of Research and Technical Support, Datuk Dr Hishamshah Mohd Ibrahim. The partnership was also supported by YB Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, the Minister of Health, who delivered the welcoming speech at the event, virtually.

The MoU falls in line with UNM’s commitment to research and technology development, and their dedication to accelerating industry accomplishments. UNM will stand to gain from leveraging MCPG’s industry experts for improved academic research projects. This is an especially great opportunity to both educate UNM students through guest lectures and industry-specific training, and be a great source of inspiration as they pursue their future careers. MCPG, too, will benefit from UNM’s reputation as the leading, global, research-led institution and its well-established researchers and academics, who will be able to provide insights on the development and improvement of the programme in the future.
UNM students will be able to participate in the “COVID-19 Vaccination Training Programme” themselves and even more, MCPG also offers UNM students the opportunity to be placed under its member pharmacies for further training. This will help to upskill and develop students entering the industry and prepare them with the skills they need for better employability.
Students will be given the opportunity to partake in the “COVID-19 Vaccination Training Programme” as part of UNM and MCPG’s commitment to advancing vaccination programmes in Malaysia
The partnership offers a promising future for MCPG, UNM and its students, as well as the industry.
