UNM wins Outstanding Student Section Award for 2022
Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) – University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) emerged as fourth-time winner of the Outstanding IEM Student Section Awards for the year 2022. This award was presented to the IEM-UNM Student Section on 30 October 2022.
The award ceremony took place at the IEM Young Engineers National Summit 2022 (NATSUM 2022), which was held in Kota Kinabalu. This achievement by the Student Section who had been awarded to UNM four times. Initially in 2017 and for the past three consecutive years in in 2020, 2021 and 2022, respectively.
“I am very proud of the IEM UNM Student Section’s achievement and would like to congratulate the previous and current committees for their hard work in organising and promoting engineering activities for our students. Special thanks to our Faculty of Science and Engineering for the continuous support given to the Student Section”, said Dr Hii Ching Lik, Associate Professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering at UNM, who is also the advisor of the society
This year the Student Section was led by Chan Ying Kai, who is a Year 3 MEng in Mechanical, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering student
The IEM Student Section also clinched the Best Society Award at the UNM Student Association Awards in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
