Careers Advisory Service Grabs Second Place for Best Employability Rating Award 2016

In June 2016, Careers Advisory Service of University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) had been bestowed with the second place by Universum for the Best Employability Rating Award 2016 in Malaysia. Ms. Nadine Dinh, the Marketing and Partner Relations Manager of Universum presented the award to the Head of Careers Advisory Service, Ms. Alicia Ch’ng on June, 15.

The Universum Survey had been carried out from October 2015 until February 2016 with the participation of 16714 respondents in Malaysia where 607 of UNMC students also took part. This survey was conducted by Universum as to understand the career preferences and expectations of students and alumni in each institution, which also included the crucial elements such as the enthusiasm of the students for professional life, and the brand perception and attractiveness of the institution itself.

“Congratulations to UNMC Careers Advisory Service for getting second highest score in Malaysia and keep up the good work,” Ms. Nadine said. According to her, UNMC Careers Advisory Service had been successful to be the first runner-up for Malaysia category based on the students’ evaluation of how they have been equipped with employability skills.

It has always been a priority for Careers Advisory Service to deliver the best service for the students. For past years, Careers Advisory Service had been conducted numerous initiatives such as annual careers fair, sector-focused careers fair, career talks, networking sessions, workshops, and more. They were meant to build strong ties with industries, open doors for students-employers interaction, and support students in professional development. In addition, Careers Advisory Service has always been keen to come out with initiatives that equip students with transferable and practical skills in which the employers are looking for.

Ms. Alicia Ch’ng also commented, “This is a fantastic news for Careers Advisory Service and we are delighted to receive this award as all the hard works come to fruition. To win the second place in Malaysia category is a testament to the strength of our team and the satisfaction of our students toward our service. We are eager to keep on improving and make Nottingham proud!”

Careers Advisory Service would like to thank Universum, UNMC students and those who gave endless support to us.
