Alumni Testimonial: Lim Shi Hao (2012)
Welcome to the world of pharmacy!
From the conventional point of view, a pharmacist license enables you to join government service, private hospital, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry or academic. You have a wide selection of career paths and the main difference between us and other jobs is that our license is required and as license holder, we distinguish ourselves as professionals. Other than the career options aforementioned, we can do so much more, and the job functions of pharmacists are ever expanding. Apart from developing own business, we can become enforcement pharmacist, business development managers or even a consultant. After a fruitful pre-registration training year in Nottingham, I returned to Malaysia and worked as a community pharmacist holding various roles. Subsequently I joined PhAMA and get involved in policy work and high-level
engagements.
During your four years at Nottingham, treasure the opportunities and time to expand your horizon. You need to have faith that your future is not and should not be defined by conventional wisdoms. I look forward to meeting fellow Nottingham alumni in the working world with endless opportunities awaiting!
Shi Hao is currently working as a Policy Manager at PhAMA (Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia), focusing on healthcare policies research and engagements.
