RTAD: December’s Highlights
Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instil in us. – Hal Borland
First and foremost, from everyone at RTAD, we wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Here are the highlights of December 2013.
Workshop with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)
Teaching and research collaboration between universities in the supervision of research students has become more apparent over recent years. There are significant advantages to collaboration, including the improved use of resources and better quality supervision, achieved through collaboration with difference experts.
Recognising the importance of joint collaboration in teaching and research, a workshop with Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) was held in the Great Hall, UNMC on 10 December 2013. The aim of the workshop was to provide a forum for discussion and networking in order to provide an opportunity for existing partners to develop projects and establish new and more collaborative networks between UNMC and UPM.
The workshop started with a warm welcoming by Professor Graham Kendall, Vice-Provost for Research & Knowledge Transfer, UNMC and followed by research presentations from academicians and students of both universities. More than 20 academicians and students from both universities attended the workshop and we will be expecting more collaboration activities and projects with UPM in the near future.

Go Green – Start Small
Plants in the workplace offer more than aesthetic value. They can help to reduce stress, enhance positive attitudes, increase productivity, decrease stress and improve air quality in the office.
To kick-start the New Year with positive energy, we have placed a few plants in a small corner of our office!
Last but not least, we wish all a wonderful, purposeful, awe-inspiring, incredible, fantastic, magnificent, marvelous, extraordinary, blessed, grace-filled, jubilant, delicious, unbelievable, astonishing, mind-blowing, spectacular, ridiculously happy and prosperous year ahead. Cheers!
