UNMC Graduate School Deepavali Open House

The Festival of Lights needs no introduction in Malaysia. Celebrated with equal fervour alongside Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Chinese New Year, Deepavali signifies the victory of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Deepavali, also known as Diwali, is celebrated by Hindus across the world and it is the most important festival in Hinduism.

Deepavali is one of the occasions for a social get-together where Open Houses are held with family and friends visiting each other and enjoying delicious traditional goodies. The special occasion gave us an opportunity to hold an Open House on Friday, 27th November 2015 for our postgraduate students.

The postgraduate students were treated with a variety of local Indian delicacies such as chicken curry, roti canai, vegetable dhal, etc.

Some traditional Indian snacks were served during the Deepavali Open House.

We would like to express our heartiest gratitude to those who attended the Deepavali Open House. Through it, we hope to promote and foster the spirit of unity and solidarity among the members of postgraduate community at UNMC.

If you have any feedback regarding the session, please write to us at rtad@nottingham.edu.my or graduateschool@nottingham.edu.my. We also welcome any suggestions and ideas that you would like us to consider for our future Coffee and Cake sessions.
