[Invitation] NRLP Session: How to be an Effective Research Team Member
The Graduate School invites all staff and postgraduate research students of UNMC to attend a Nottingham Research Leaders Programme (NRLP) session titled ‘How to be an Effective Research Team Member‘.
Date: 21st April 2016, Thursday
Time: 3pm – 4pm

The session has been designed to integrate self-awareness and learning across a number of key areas which include:
- project management – for participants’ own projects and in assisting others with their projects
- people management – managing others and being managed
- prioritisation of competing tasks and managing complex, diverse workloads
This session is for you if you would like to spend time evaluating your effectiveness as a researcher and looking for practical ways to improve it. You will receive advice, guidance and encouragement to make the changes to your working practices to improve your effectiveness. The session will also provide you with realistic settings to test out these changes.
Aims
The session aims to enhance the effectiveness of researchers working in higher education using a broad range of activities that look at many different aspects of the research career and environment.
Objectives
The objectives of the session are:
- review and enhance your research planning skills
- develop effective working practices for the research environment
- help you to maximise your impact within the research community
- help you to manage your working relationships- managing others and being managed
