Winners announced in the 4th annual U21 3MT® competition
We are pleased to announce the 2016 recipient of the Highly Commended Award of the annual Universitas 21 (U21) Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition is our very own Lillian JA Olule!
Lillian represented the University of Nottingham after winning the tri-campus round. For four consecutive years the Malaysia Campus had been selected to represent the entire University of Nottingham to compete against other universities at the U21 final.
The 2016 U21 3MT® competition pitted the leading presenters from U21 member universities against one another. Each participating member held their own internal 3MT® competition to select a local winner who was then put forward for the U21 final.
The full results are:
1st place – Kate Rielge van West, University of Auckland
Highly Commended – Lillian JA Olule, University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus
People’s Choice – Islam Mosa, University of Connecticut
The U21 judges mentioned that they are always incredibly impressed by the standard of the 3MT presentations and this year has been no exception. The judges described the judging process as ‘a pleasure not a chore’. The People’s Choice voting has seen a huge rise in the number of votes this year, from 2500 last year to just over 3400 this year.
