[Past Event] Coffee and Cake: Chinese New Year Celebration

In celebration of the Chinese lunar calendar’s most important festival, we had our annual Chinese New Year celebration in advance on Wednesday, 25th January 2017.

The celebration featured the tradition of stirring and tossing of Yee Sang, also known as Spring Toss. Yee Sang literally means “raw fish”, but its pronunciation in Chinese carries a totally different meaning – “increase in abundance”. Thus, Yee Sang bacame a tradition synonym with abundance, prosperity and vigour.

Among the refreshments served during the celebration were noodles, fried chicken, dim sum and tangerines. Noodles are traditionally served during Chinese New Year as they symbolise longevity while tangerines are believed to bring good luck and fortune.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who came and celebrated with us.
