Coffee & Cake Session 1/2019
The first Coffee and Cake session this year was held on 22 February 2019. We are pleased to see a great turnout comprising of new and senior postgraduates!
Prior to this Coffee and Cake session, a mini postgraduate induction was held for new postgraduates. Unlike the previous years where we only offer one main Postgraduate Welcome Programme during Autumn semester, this year we are offering multiple postgraduate induction programmes as part of our continuous efforts to improve and extend our support to all new postgraduates regardless of their different commencement dates.

For the new postgraduates, this Coffee and Cake session was an opportunity to look around our Postgraduate Hub which is a dedicated space for postgraduate researchers. It was also an opportunity to meet other senior postgraduates whilst enjoying refreshments courtesy of the Graduate School. As for the senior postgraduates, it was a platform to temporarily get away from their work, relieve stress and catch-up with fellow postgraduates.
We are pleased to see that some postgraduates took advantage of this session to play some board games. We thought that it was a good decision to move the “Take 5 Corner”, originally placed in the entrance walkway, into the Postgraduate Social Space.

The Coffee and Cake sessions are open to all our postgraduate students including postgraduate research students (PGRs) and postgraduate taught students (PGTs). Come and join the rest of the postgraduate community on campus in these social gathering sessions and enjoy the free refreshments!
