Postgraduate Showcase 2021

Virtual Live!

Our postgraduate researchers will be presenting their poster to a panel of judges in this year’s virtual Postgraduate Showcase Live! on Wednesday 8 September 2021 at 10am.

This live event is open to all our postgraduate students and the rest of our UNM community. More details will be announced soon.

Researcher training courses

Postgraduate Student Teachers (PST) programme

Preparing to teach in higher education

• Monday 27 September 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

• This course will introduce the practices, roles and responsibilities involved in teaching at a higher education level.

• Join

Demonstrating in laboratory practicals

• Tuesday 28 September 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

• This course will consider the purpose and practice of practical classes, and subsequently develop skills in managing such classes.

• Join

Lecturing for learning

• Wednesday 29 September 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

• This course will take on a very practical look at the task of giving a lecture to undergraduates; explore the aspects of preparation and delivery; and build both confidence and abilities of those who are relatively new to the role of lecturing.

• Join

Health and safety

• Wednesday 29 September 2021, 2pm – 4.30pm

• This course will identify hazardous factors and inform preventive measures to ensure that the risks are adequately controlled at all times.

• Join

Marking and assessment

• Thursday 30 September 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

• This course will consider the purpose and practice of assessing and giving feedback on students’ work.
