Call for nominations: Tri Campus Awards
These prestigious awards celebrate outstanding postgraduate researchers, research supervisors and postdoctoral researchers across the University of Nottingham and recognise accomplishments in research, publications, conferences and contribution to the postgraduate and research community. This year the awards are expanded to recognise the diverse contributions and achievements across the following six categories:

Call for applications: Postgraduate Assistant Award
This award recognises and celebrates examples of innovative support of learning within the last two years. Applicants may support learning through a wide range of activities, including: demonstrating in laboratory classes, distance learning, leading seminars or tutorials, supporting project work, assessing, development of resources, giving feedback on student work or welfare and support of other students. These awards are given to people who can show innovative and reflective practice by:

Improving effectiveness in their support of learning

Making appropriate changes in learning activities or techniques

Evidence-informed evaluation and reflection on the impact of their intervention and possibilities for further development

Postgraduate induction

Our postgraduate induction features welcome talk by our Associate Dean of Graduate School and introductory presentations by our staff members on a range of support services and development opportunities for postgraduate students. Key members from the faculties will also join us in guiding and preparing you to start your postgraduate journey. The inclusion of a session with your respective faculty will make sure that you receive the support, information and supervision that you need.

The Researcher Academy ran a Mind Matters webinar covering how to manage feelings of isolation, motivation and control in the current uncertain times. The recording is now available for you where you can get advice and tips on looking after your mental wellbeing while studying for a PhD, including self-care and putting together a wellbeing plan.

Building an inclusive, supportive postgraduate research environment
We recently hosted a town hall event where we gave an update bringing together a number of new developments following on our structural change and administrative reform. We also gave an update on the findings and targeted actions of our previous survey in understanding the issues affecting postgraduate research progression.
