Postgraduate Student Teachers (PST) Programme
Preparing to Teach in Higher Education

Monday 22 February 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

This course will introduce the practices, roles and responsibilities involved in teaching at a higher education level.

Demonstrating in Laboratory Practicals

Tuesday 23 February 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

This course will consider the purpose and practice of practical classes, and subsequently develop skills in managing such classes.

Lecturing for Learning

Wednesday 24 February 2021, 10am – 12.30pm

This course will take on a very practical look at the task of giving a lecture to undergraduates; explore the aspects of preparation and delivery; and build both confidence and abilities of those who are relatively new to the role of lecturing.

This course will identify hazardous factors and inform preventive measures to ensure that the risks are adequately controlled at all times.

Call for nominations: Postgraduate Awards 2021
The nomination call for our annual Postgraduate Awards is still open. The awards recognise accomplishments in research, publications, conferences and contributions to the postgraduate community.
Nomination is done through HOS/HOD and each school/department can only nominate one student. PGR students can nominate themselves to HOS/HOD for consideration.
Submission deadline: Friday 26 February 2021, by noon (local time)

This is an opportunity for all new postgraduate research students to hear about how we can support you with training and development opportunities. It features welcome talks and presentations by us from the Graduate School and Postgraduate Students’ Network (PGSN).
