Tri Campus Games 2018

In one of the competitive and thrilling week in Nottingham Tri Campus Games, what was considered a very close competition, Malaysia Campus managed to snag the title for themselves with 21-points, Ningbo Campus came in as a close second with 20 points and lastly UK Campus with 19 points. This is the second time our campus has managed to win the Nottingham Tri-Campus Games, back in 2015 was the first time we won the trophy.

Nottingham Tri Campus Games is an annual sports competition between the University of Nottingham three campuses (UK, Malaysia and China). This unique event provides the opportunity for 200 students from over 20 different countries to come together in the spirit of ‘Friendship through Sports’. Every year this competition is hosted by a different campus and is inclusive of these eight sports; Badminton, Basketball, Football, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Nottingham Tri Campus Games, and was held at the University of Nottingham, UK Campus. It was an intense week of friendly competition where students from each campus tried their best to win the title of the Tri Campus Games champion.

According to Mrs Intan Liyana Idris who accompanied our students during the competition: “Becoming the champion of the Nottingham Tri Campus Games is a great achievement for our students. Especially being able to witness how the students are working together in a team, the support that was provided and how everyone was enthusiastic and positive within this competition. Being able to be a part of the joy and the excitement will be something that will be forever cherished as it’s not simply about the trophy but rather a symbol of the friendship that was founded in sports between the three campuses”

Hopefully, we can retain the title in the next year’s Tri Campus games especially that Malaysia will be hosting it next year. Let’s make sure the Trophy stays home and we keep the spirit alive!
