UNM hosted an Evening with Preeta Samarasan
The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) hosted internationally renowned Malaysian author Preeta Samarasan at a reading session recently.
A room full of students predominantly from UNM’s School of English attended the session where Preeta read her latest book Tale of the Dreamer’s Son, a novel that explores topics of religion and race in Malaysia.
At this session, Preeta shared insights on writing and her creative journey. Currently based in Europe, she is writing her next novel.
Head of English, Dr Shivani Sivagurunathan, said: “It is important that our students engage with significant literary voices of our time. The School works hard to provide such opportunities, both to our students and members of the public who are interested.”
The School of English regularly hosts many leading authors, poets, and artists for their students.
