UNMC inaugural Three Minute Thesis

The University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus (UNMC) will hold its inaugural 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition on Thursday, October 3rd, 2013 at the Great Hall. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition originally developed by The University of Queensland in Australia. The aim is to help research students develop their academic, presentation, and research communication skills and support them to effectively explain their research in three minutes in a language appropriate to an intelligent but non-specialist audience. Example of a winning presentation by Tim Paris (Winner, 3MT Trans-Tasman 2012) is shown below:

In UNMC inaugural event, this year, a total of 18 research students have confirmed their participation. Here are some participants practising their 3 Minute Thesis presentation:

The UNMC Three Minute Thesis commences from 09:45 am to 13:30 pm. As a result, please come and provide support to these participants who will showcase their on-going research work. Audiences can also participate in the competition by taking part in the 3MT Peer Award competition where audiences will get the chance to vote for the participants who best explain his/her research work.
