UNMC Graduate School: A Very Merry Christmas Party

Christmas is almost here! When we talk about Christmas, what comes to mind is snow, Christmas tree, presents and of course, Santa Claus. Although it is quite impossible to have a white Christmas in Malaysia, this does not mean that the celebration is less festive. We celebrate it here the Malaysian way!

Our annual Christmas Party was held on Wednesday, 17th December 2014. The party brought postgraduate students from different faculties together and fostered social interaction and unity among the postgraduate community. The afternoon was filled with festive spirit and there were some students wearing the signature red cap of St. Nicholas and grooving to the beat of Christmas songs.

The afternoon was filled with laughter!

One of the traditions we practiced was contribution of gifts to the less fortunate children. Christmas is the season of giving and the spirit of Christmas is the spirit of giving. This year’s contribution was made to Rumah Kasih, an orphanage with 20 girls aged between 6 to 17 years old. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made their kind and generous contribution towards Rumah Kasih.

We also organised a secret Santa event to exchange gifts, where every members of the Research Training and Academic Development (RTAD) Team shared the spirit of giving. This has been practiced in the Graduate School since its establishment.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your Christmas this year sparkles with happiness and joy.
