Covid-19: Graduate School updates (20 October 2021)
Ref. UNM/GS/Covid-19/65/20/10/21
As we transit into Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), we are providing this update to our postgraduate community outlining latest news and information from us at the Graduate School.
The University is regularly updating advice and general FAQs on Covid-19 on its web page.
News and guidance
Our gradual return
We are coordinating our gradual return to “normal” working following the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions by the government and reopening of our campus.
In line with the University’s planning, we are looking forward to return to on-campus working, with the aim to be back at full capacity by December.
With the return of on-campus working, it will allow us to resume some of the support services eg. reward scheme redemption. More information will be announced to you as soon as details become available.
A survey for postgraduate research students (PGRs)
We highly value our postgraduate researchers and we want to reassure you that the University is looking at how best to support your needs.
At the Graduate School, we spend a lot of time advocating for our PGRs especially on issues affecting your research progress. As you are aware, we have recently launched a PGR survey earlier this month. The information from this survey will help us in supporting strategic decisions and determining areas for improvement.
The survey is still open and we would like to encourage all our PGRs to respond.
Closing date: Friday 29 October 2021 (5pm)
Join us at our next postgraduate induction
Our postgraduate induction features welcome talk by our Vice-Provost for Research and Knowledge Exchange and introductory presentations by our staff members at the Graduate School on a range of support services and development opportunities for postgraduate students. The next one is scheduled for Friday 22 October 2021 at 3pm – 5.30pm.
This time, key members from the faculties will also join us in guiding and preparing you to start your postgraduate journey. The inclusion of a session with your respective faculty will make sure that you receive the support, information and supervision that you need.
