Call for Participations: Pecha Kucha 2019
This post is intended for early career researchers (academic staff). It is posted on behalf of Dr Tissa Chandesa, Research Training Development Manager.
Challenge yourself to showcase your research work in 6 minutes and 40 seconds!
Pecha Kucha is a form of presentation where the presenter presents in 6 minutes and 40 seconds, designed by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham in February 2003. The presentation centres on 20 PowerPoint slides, shown for 20 seconds each. According to (Watanabe-Crockett, 2016), a Pecha Kucha presentation utilises imagery and efficient use of spoken word to create a seamless, memorable, meaningful and concise presentation.
Sample Pecha Kucha presentations can be viewed here: https://www.pechakucha.com/presentations
This competition aims to:
- Foster the presenter’s creativity in fusing 20 images with efficient use of spoken word to explain their research topic to a non-expert intelligent audience.
- Develop presentation, research and communication skills of early career researchers.
