Communicating your research to people from all walks of life is a vital skill set to any research longevity
The Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT®) challenges research students to communicate the significance of their projects to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes. This year, the competition will take place online where you will present your research live to a panel of judges.
The competition is open to PhD students who have passed their first confirmation review.

Virtual town hall meetings for researchers
What does a new normal for world-leading research look like?
In these unprecedented times, it is so important that we have the opportunity to come together to share ideas, ambitions, concerns, and to offer mutual support.
To support our determination to stay connected Professor Hall will be hosting a virtual town hall meeting with a panel of colleagues from across the University. The panel will consist of Professor Sivakumar Manickam, Associate Dean of Research & Knowledge Exchange (FOSE); Dr Seow Hsin-Vonn, Associate Dean of Research & Knowlege Exchange (FASS); and Kylie Colvin, Director of Strategy and Acting Director of Recruiment & Marketing. In our latest updates, we are pleased to highlight that Professor Dame Jessica Corner, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research and Knowledge will join the panel in the first session.
