The Battle Has Begun: Six UNM Students Advance into National Finals of MGAC 2019

Maybank Go Ahead. Challenge (MGAC) has made its comeback! Welcoming students from all study disciplines and nationalities, it returns with a new theme, #ChallengeofChoice.

Eager to experience challenges that will stretch their boundaries and unlock their potentials, about more than 40 participants – mostly were from University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), and other local and private universities, had demonstrated their high level of teamwork and determination during the MGAC Nottingham Campus Level which took place on May 30. Participants had to go through a series of challenges that required them to build their teamwork, test their soft skills and knowledge, and work collaboratively on business case projects.

At the end of the Nottingham Campus Level challenge, 6 students – five from UNM and one from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), had advanced to the next stage, which is the National Level. Another one UNM participant had joined the UTAR Campus Level challenge and successfully advanced, which makes overall six UNM participants who are qualified to the National Level. Below are the qualifiers from UNM:

  • Jesper Huang, Business Economics & Finance

  • Peh Dion, Finance, Accounting & Management

  • Loh Xuejing, Master of Business Administration

  • Hoo Yee Hui, Finance, Accounting & Management

  • Low Tze Wei, MEng Mechanical Engineering

  • Yap Yi Sheng, Economics

Jesper Huang has been crowned as the Nottingham Campus Level champion, beating the other finalists. He said that he was overwhelmed with the winning and advancement to the National Finals.

“The Maybank Go Ahead Challenge (MGAC) 2019 was a truly remarkable experience. Truthfully, I did not expect to experience such a holistic journey in a business case study competition. The MGAC 2019 tested our mettle and forced us to expand our creativity beyond boundaries known to crack the complexities of the case.

I am elated to be given the opportunity to represent University of Nottingham Malaysia at the National Finals and look forward to meeting some of the most talented and passionate people throughout this exciting journey.”

We wish you all the best! Keep roaring, Nottingham team! #MGACxNottingham2019
